I've been vegetarian since I was 12 and vegan for many years now, and it was when I became a vegan that I realized how important food is to a healthy life and planet.
After 10 years studying and working as an actress in Paris, NY and Portugal, I decided to change the world from my kitchen.
I'm a Health Coach at Integrative Nutrition NY. I worked in São Paulo in the kitchens of gourmet vegetarian restaurants and learned to cook on different cooking courses, always surrounded by cookbooks.
In 2014 I created The Love Food company, one of the first vegan and organic companies in the Portugal, that produced and distributed baked goods, snacks and food throughout the country, always healthy and delicious - I felt that it wasn't enough to share recipes, there needed to be really healthy and tasty alternatives on the market.
From 2018 I closed down the food production and dedicated myself to the creative consultancy and cooking training in vegan cooking and baking.
I wrote four books - The Vegan Cookbook, Vegan Cooking for Babies, Children and Healthy Families, Ecoguide to Change the World and Vegan Gourmet, published by Penguin Random House. I also participated in the book “Hoje o Chef Sou Eu” published by Caminho das Palavras.
I am co-organizer and trainer of the Vegetarian Cooking Courses and the Plant Based Cooking Programme at the Escola de Hotelaria e Turismo de Lisboa and Porto, among others. I've given countless workshops and showcookings all over the country.
I was the host of Veggie, a cooking and lifestyle tv show on Sic Mulher (and the first vegan TV show in Europe! Hurray!). And I was nominated FIT personality by NIT magazine.
Here you can find that eating is a pleasure, but it's also revolutionary. My food is made with seasonal ingredients that respect and regenerate ecosystems and soils. You won't hear me talking about recommended daily portions or calories: a varied and colorful diet, with everything the land and sea give us in an ethical and fair way, is worthwhile in itself and leaves us full of energy, healthy and happier. And of course, with the minimum of waste and always without animals involved.
I believe that a conscious lifestyle is the beginning to create a better world.
Full time, I’m the mother of a little boy and we've adopted a cat and a dog: Mochi and Sol.
This blog has changed my life. I hope it's useful to you.
